The Marcus Foundation is a US leader in biomedical research philanthropy, principally in five medical research areas: 1) human stem cell research and regenerative medicine, including cellular immunotherapies for childhood and adult cancer, pulmonary disease, CNS diseases, and sepsis 2) earlier detection and precision treatment for cancer 3) precision diagnosis and treatment for Autism Spectrum Disorder 4) mechanism of action-based clinical research in integrative medicine, and 5) precision medicine for cardiovascular disease, including stroke.
Jewish Causes
Supporting Jewish causes to ensure the continuity, survival, and flourishing of the Jewish people and to promote Israel’s democracy and self-sufficiency.
The Marcus Foundation is dedicated to supporting Jewish causes to ensure the Jewish people’s continuity, survival, and flourishing and to promote Israel’s democracy and self-sufficiency. This becomes activated through what Bernie believes is two sides of the same coin – fighting antisemitism/anti-Israel sentiment, particularly on college campuses, and promoting projects and organizations that instill pride within our youth. While the focus is often on the college experience, we recognize that to prepare students for that volatile environment, opportunity begins by reaching and engaging teens before they reach that milestone.
Free Enterprise, National Security, and Veterans
Promoting and strengthening the free enterprise system by fostering job creation and supporting those who have put their lives in harm’s way to protect our democracy, especially post 9/11 veterans.

We actively promote job creation and thank military veterans who have bravely defended our country. We uphold the principles of a free market economy by channeling investments into initiatives that advocate for robust national defense and support veterans and their families afflicted by the unseen scars of war. Our commitment lies in nurturing an environment where free enterprise thrives, ensuring our country’s enduring greatness.
Children and Youth Development

The Marcus Foundation invests in causes that help children and youth acquire the skills and values they can rely on throughout their lives, ensuring they have the best chances to lead good lives as individuals and citizens of their communities and in America. Focused on fostering a well-rounded development, programs emphasize civics education and provide young individuals with a deep understanding of our country’s founding principles and their roles and responsibilities within society. Additionally, we champion exposure to skilled trades, presenting viable and rewarding career options. These initiatives are complemented by programs aimed at driving educational success, ensuring that each child has the tools and opportunities to thrive in a free market society.
